Just before Thanksgiving, the Senate collected the required 60 votes to invoke cloture (stopping a filibuster or talk-a-thon) and begin debate on their healthcare bill.  This week, they commenced debate on the various amendments to the legislation.  The bill, a merged version of both the Senate Finance Committee’s and Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee’s bills, will address individual and small group health insurance markets – an issue very important to self employed REALTORS®.  Debate is expected to extend throughout December.
